Does a father have rights to claim any money

My daughter passaway 11-1-04 of toxic shock and I,m suing the hospital.And the Attorneys have to let the father know of the lawsuit. The thing is that the father has never been in his daughter life in 15yrs paid maybe 6 child surpport in her whole 16yrs never sent her card for birthdays christmas and had visitaion and never did that he got a divorce in 90 and he remarried and know divorce again and his ex told the court that he owe child surpport in CA. an his response was why should he have to pay surpport for a child that died he beeb in&out of jail for drug he been shot ,stab, and he did, even come to her funeral and laying your child to rest alone was the hardest thing I had to do. He did,nt even call when she died. By the he live in Maryland. Does he have the right?

The father must by law be included in the lawsuit. The amount of damages he suffered will be determined by his relationship with the your daughter. Thus he will probably get very little of any damages award. Further your attorney will not be representing him.
