Father wanting custody

Can a father who volunteered his children to DCFS; to protect them from their neglectful mother, regain them through DCFS? How are these decisions made?

You may be able to regain custody, however you will need to file a petition for custody. There will be a hearing to determine if you are a fit parent to have custody and they will most likely question you about the circumstances surrounding your forefiture of custody.
