Legal Question in Family Law in California

Father wanting to relocate children with full custody awarded by court

Hello,

I have two boys under 3 and have been awarded full custody by the courts for their care. Their mother has mental issues and only has supervised visits weekly and a few alone hours once a month. My question is I am wanting to relocate to Northern California and am concerned with being restricted on my actions. She provides me no monitary compensation and has really nothing to to with their care, however the system as been leinient with her from the start and every time we go back to court she gets a little more freedom with them. As it is now I am forced to take them to her three times a week while she does nothing. Should I have any problems if I decide to move....are there any laws in california I should be aware of or any advice I could get. All is very appreciated.

Thanks in advance from a worried father.

Moving without a plan for visitation is risky. The court may order you to return the children to the area where you were living when the current visitation order was made. Attempt to negotiate a new visitation agreement with mom. If you cannot negotiate a new agreement with her, then go to court and get a court order for a new visitation plan.
