Legal Question in Family Law in California

the father of my 22 year old child disappeared befor she was 1. I was a single parent for 20 years, and being that the relationship w her father was very abusive, seeking out child support wasnt worth the risk. at the age of 20, my daughter received a letter from an oregon state penitentiary, from the father she never knew, who located her with the help of a younger half brother. Both of the grandparents have passed and a sizeable cash inheritance left to thier father is now locked up in a trust he hgas in the son's name, until the age of 25. which, coincidentally,is also the expected time of dads release. I feel my child and i are entitled to collect back child support, and wonder if so, how to collect.

If you never had an action to collect child support for him when she was a minor, it is too late now.
