Legal Question in Family Law in California

fathers rights

My daughter is 21 yrs. old now and I still owe some money on arrearages. My exwife had custody of my daughter and I was granted visitation every other weekend. This was fine for 5 years until her and my daughter moved out of state in which I was not able too have my daughter for my court ruled visitation. Was my exwife in violation of my visitation rights? Could I have done something about it then? Could I do something about it now?

Re: fathers rights

It appears that your ex may have been in violation of court orders and you could have done something about it when she moved. Its too late now. You will have to pay the arrears. Remember, the principal amount that you owe collects 10% interest. It may be cheaper for you to pay off the balance and pay a lower interest. Or you might offer her a lump sum payoff at a discount.
