Legal Question in Family Law in California
I feel lost and powerless
One week after we move to California from Colorado to a new house i bought for us in my name only. I came home to find half the house taken and my two
children gone. She rented an u-haul and towed her care and went back to Colorado with out telling me first. I went back to Colorado and got my 10
year old to come back but my 15 year old wants to stay with mom. She has been freeloading at a girlfriend's house with my 15 year old for over 3
months she left 4 days before father's day. She is now working as a nurse assistant in a nursing home I do not know how much she make maybe $8. We
have a separation agreement and dissolution of marriage by a paralegal. She says we grew apart and now I feel she is destroying our family. She will not
work with me to solve or problems. We have been married for 18 years and i do not know what to do. I want my other daughter to live here with my ten
year old. And let my wife just go find herself.
I do not know what to do. I feel lost and powerless.
I need advice. Thanks--name removed--

Re: I feel lost and powerless
If you are now living in California, you should file your dissolution case in California. Since the ex moved here with you, and lived here for a time, she would be subject to California jurisdiction under the sufficient minimum contact test. I would get a California attorney and proceed with your case!!
