Legal Question in Family Law in California

My fiance has two adopted daughters. Her ex husband does not wish to maintain a relationship with the adopted daughters, but is required by the divorce state, oregon, to have them 2 weeks a year anyway. My question is... is there a way for him to be removed or give up rights as an adoptive parent, so I would the able to adopt them when we are married?

Yes, but you will have to go through procedings in Oregon and California to do it. It is not TOO difficult a process, but you will find it long and frustrating if you don't have an attorney either do it for you or at least guide you through it.

Get the case transferred to California and begin proceedings here to terminate dad's parental right's so that you can adopt them.
