if my fiance owes back child support and back taxes, will this affet me when we get married?

Yes,this will affect you. You should definitely talk to an attorney about getting a prenuptual agreement so that the IRS and the mother can only go after his money - not yours. Especially if you have your own source of income. Otherwise the money you both earn together and property you buy is considered community property and can be used to pay his separate back taxes and child support.
