Legal Question in Family Law in California

Fiancee's wife married another man what legal rights does she have to my finacee

I have been with a man 14 years he is legally seperated from his wife since 1981. She remarried in another state anyway. My finacee doesn't think she now has any rights to any of his assets while he is alive or deceased. They have no minor children. Does she still have rights? If he now divorces her and we get married will she still get his assets if anything happens to him, including Social Security Widow benefits and would I be eligible for Social Security Widows Benefits if we were married?
