Fighting for cusody of my son

I am trying to gain custody of my son and i have run through all my courses of trying to do it myself and the judge refuses to listen to what i have to say. i have evidence that my son is being abused by my ex's boyfriend, i have filed a child protective services report with no outcome but when trying speak to the judge he only wants to listen to what is noted on the court documents. what can i do to make him listen to me and should i obtain a lawyer?

Retaining an attorney to assist you in court would be a vise move. An attorney should be able to get the court to listen to your position.
