If he has resided in Oregon for the last six months or more, you will have to file there.

If you have lived with your son in California for six months you can file here for custody. However, you will probably need to go to Oregon to file for child support. You may wish to wait until you have been here for six months before you file. If you set up a consultation I can explain your options and give you a practical plan. You may tell my paralegal that I offered you a free consultation. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
