Legal Question in Family Law in California
I filed for child support for my 4 month old baby boy due to the father's lack of effort to help out in anyway possible.. He has seen our son 4 times since he's been born. He's threatening to take me to court to get custody of my son if i don't close the child support case. Would he be able to get custody even though he hasn't been there for our son? and can he really avoid child support by filing for custody?

As you indicated in your question, your son is an infant. Your newborn has a right to have ongoing contact with both his mother and his father. He also has a right to receive support from the noncustodial parent. Please meet with an experienced family law attorney to explore your legal options.
