Legal Question in Family Law in California

I filed for divorce in California. I submitted the papers to the court for filing and received a case number and Petitioner status. Upon mailing the papers to my spouse in the state of Minnesota I filed the proof of mailing with the court. I now realize I neglected to include the Acknowledgement and Receipt with a self addressed stamped envelope in with the mailing. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO NOW IF ANYTHING? Mail under separate cover? Leave it as is? Re-mail the papers with the Acknowledgement? Start all over with new case?

Your first mistake is that you mailed the documents to your spouse. You can't serve papers because you are a party to the action. Second, you can't serve by mail if you were the process server. The person who serves who is not a party should have mailed the documents with the acknowledgement and receipt. Stop wasting your time with mistakes like this and get a registered process server in Minnesota to serve your spouse and fill out the proof of service.
