Legal Question in Family Law in California

I filed for a divorce and he didn't respond. We do not have a written agreement or anything. I already filed for a Request for Defualt. Now I need to know what papers need to be filed next. I really don't want to go to court for this if we don't have to. How much longer will this divorce take?

You need to go talk to the Family Law Facilitator (sometimes called the Self Help office or center) at your local Family Court. Their exact purpose is to assist people with your kind of questions, and provide answers that are specific to the local practices and procedures of your county.

I hope that you had him properly served, filed the proof of service with the court, and then filed the request for entry of default after his time to respond expired.
