Legal Question in Family Law in California

I filed a divorce in San Mateo County in California. I had my husband Served and have the signed proof of service, however I have not filed it with the court yet and it's been over a year. Do I have to start over?

You don't have to start over if your divorce action hasn't been dismissed. I'm assuming that you filed an action Petition for Dissolution of Marriage at a courthouse somewhere. What is the status of the actual Petition that you filed?
