Legal Question in Family Law in California

I filed a move away motion and the court has referred me to a court examiner to make sure that I am not a runaway mother. I have never kept my daughter from her father, but his visitation is speradic and he offers no moral support in raising out daughter. I need to move to L.A. because I can't afford to live in San Mateo on my own. I am moving in with my grandfather who has a big house and I would not have to pay any rent.
