Legal Question in Family Law in California

I filed an OSC for modification of child custody and support. My ex filed his response but it was filled with lies and even an altered document. He also made new requests for things that are not even covered in my OSC. How do I respond to these lies and provide the new evidence that I have which proves he is lying and altered a document before the hearing?

You can attend the hearing and respond to those lies at the hearing itself. The other alternative is to file a reply to his response and state your objections. You should be short and concise without going into a he said she said type situation of back and forth. Make sure the information is relevant to the issue of the OSC you filed.

For self represented individuals you can consult with the family law facilitator self help center at your local court house.

As always please consult a local attorney prior to taking legal action. Good luck. Also please check out my Santa Clara County Family Lawyer blog.
