what forms do I file (in California) to have my child support updated? How much does it cost?

If you are talking about having child support payments modified due to a change in circumstances, you would need to file for an OSC hearing. If this is the case, you should DEFINITELY retain effective legal counsel to do this with or for you ASAP.
