Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am filing for a divorce in the state of California, my husband and I have been married for 18 years. My husband works and I stay at home with the kids. Because I have no income will I be able to remain in the house with my three kids? (One of which is special needs) If so what must I do? Also I am seeking sole custody, is there any way I could get it?

The court is required to divide the assets of this marriage. If husband insists on selling the home and you cannot pay his share of the community value, then the house would be listed and sold. You are entitled to both child and spousal support. Typically the court will provide that the parents have joint legal custody to make key health education and welfare decisions together. Actual timeshare with the children depends on their needs and the realities of your husband's available time.
