Legal Question in Family Law in California

Why do I have to fill out a form MC-050 and attach it to form FL-341 when both parents agree on the custody change? I was told that it wasn't necessary if both parents sign and agree!

An MC50 is a substitution of attorney form. If you are not substituting an attorney in or out of your case then that form is not appropriate for your case. If you are agreeing to a custody change then you just need to both sign off on it, and probably notarize if you are unrepresented.
