Legal Question in Family Law in California
Final Judgement
I got sole custody in the findings and order after hearing with no visitation, well i didnt know that there was one last hearing which is the judgment, and my lawyer never let me know so i let him go thinking i didnt need him anymore. Now my sons bio dad is taking me to court because he wants my husband to adopt him, and there is no final judgment, i can no longer afford an lawyer, is there anyway my husband can defend me, i know that might be a weird question, its because there was a past domestic violence between me and the father and im nerves to talk infront of a judge on my own, with him there

Re: Final Judgement
I do not understand your question. If the bio father wants your husband to adopt the child, what is the problem? Your husband cannot represent you in court. If he was a party to the case he could be present and speak for himself. Contact the local abuse group. They may have an attorney that can advise you and help you. There should also be a family court law clinic.
