Legal Question in Family Law in California
financial liabilities
My husband has just taken upon himself to design his own divorce, meaning, he still lives at home with me and our 19 yr. old son, comes and goes as he pleases, has bank accounts only in his name and has been traveling with new credit cards he's gotton. Since has has done this, I've gotten my own bank account (I don't earn as much as my husband) and use the account for grocery shopping and general things for home or our son. My husband has continued to pay the mortgage and utilities and insurance. I've been ''cut off'' emotionally and financially. If he should proceed with a divorce will I be liable for paying back for mortgage or other bills. The home is both ours - title shows we own the home jointly.
Should I bother to writer creditors I'm not responsible for this debts even thought we're married still? I too am now using a credit card to continue to live in the same lifestyle as I was used to.
Please advise asap

In a general sense, you may not have created a date of separation per current case law, and as a result, you may still be accumulating commuity property together even though you have started to maintain separate bank accounts.
For a specific opinion regarding your individual circumstances, I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer, and inquire about a case called Marriage of Norviel. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!
