Legal Question in Family Law in California

Financial Liability of Custodial Parent for Child's Actions

I am divorced and have sole physical and legal custody of my 16-year-old son. If, while vising his father, my son drives his father's vehicle and has an accident, can I, as the one legally responsible for my son's actions, be sued, even though the vehicle is not mine?

Your question did not suggest that whether your son had the driving license or not, if not then the owner of vehicle is liable for the damages as he permited the boy to drive the vehicle, if your son has the driving license, then in that case you have to bear the damage occured in accident as you have the lgal custody of your son.
