Legal Question in Family Law in California

I have been trying to find my exhusband to have him served court papers for contempt to show cause but he is hiding from the processors. I have reset another court date but still haven\'t located him. Do I have to keep changing my court dates until I find and serve him papers or do I have any other recourse?

You did not state what he did that you wish to have him found in contempt. If he has not paid child support contact the Department of Child Support Services and open a case with them. They have access to information that is not available to you. You could also contact the district attorney's office and report his conduct. It is a crime to not support your children. Retaining private investigator to locate him and serve is another possibility. A review of the facts of you case with an attorney would also be a good option.
