Legal Question in Family Law in California
I need to finnish my divorce ASAP
My ex ( whom I have been separated from for 4 years) filed for divorce w/UCCA back in 2005. But it never was finnished. I want to file for judgement to finnish the divorce but I am considered the Respondent. What should I do?? All the main paperwork was already filed and I have no property or money to fight over. The court told me that she has to finnish it since she filed. but she doesn't want to finnish it, she wants to drag it out. Its already been 2 years, Can I file for A request for judgement?? I already agreed for her to have the kids and The dept of child support is handling the support end of the case so there is nothing to fight over,

File a request for trial setting. This will force her to come to court to finish it up.

You will need to file a Response with the court and then a request that the matter be set for trial. You also must do a declaration of disclosure. It may be easier for you to contact the facilitator's office (if your court has one) or retain an attorney. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
