If you fire your attorney and deceide to defend yourself as pro per, do you have to file a substitution of attorney to the court?

Yes. The court needs to know whether or not you are represented by an attorney, and your phone number and address.

Yes, you must file a substitution of attorney to indicate to the court and opposing party you are self represented. You also need to include in that form your current address and phone number for contact.
