Fixing an Order After Hearing
After a very messy divorce, my ex-husband had his girlfriend fill out and file the order after hearing in our case. Although some of it is right there are sevral mistakes including a few things placed in this order after hearing that were never ordered. I would like to know how much it would cost to have an attorney look over the transcripts and the nature of proceedings and compare it to what was filed by my ex's girlfriend and fix any errors made. Or make a new one that is accurate. How do I go about this process and what would it cost? Is there anybody in my area that would do this without charging an arm and a leg? I have tried the mediators and facilatators and have not had much luck. Thank you.

The first step is to call the court reporter and arrange to purchase the transcript. After you compare the transcript with the order, you could file a motion to amend the order. In general, if you are in court by yourself, and the judge makes an oral order, you should take careful notes.

If this order has been submitted to the court you must immediately notify the court that you disagree with the form and content of the order. Further that you have ordered a copy of the transcript from the court reporter. Unless you do this the judge may sign the court order. Once the order is signed it may be difficult to get it changed.
