Legal Question in Family Law in California

form fl-450

I have 2 questions in filling out form fl-450. First in the instructions it states to call the court for a hearing date and further down in the instructions it states that the court will notify all parties of the hearing date. If they are going to contact me with a court date after submitting the form why would I need to call and get a court date. There was also not a phone number provided for me to call the courthouse.

My ex husband did not initiate these proceedings, does he or will he be notified of the hearing.

Re: form fl-450

You call the court to get a hearing date. This date is typed into the form. You then take the completed form to the court along with an envelope for each party to be served. You must address each envelope and attach sufficient postage for the packet of documents. This is given to the clerk of the court. The clerk then stamps and places the notice the documents to be served into the envelope and mails it. You should inquires as to the availability of the local family court clinic. Someone at the clinic will explain this to you.
