More details are needed to prepare an adequate response. There is no guarentee that you would not need to appear in Court to complete the dissolution. You may e-mail me at [email protected] with details of date of marriage, date you stopped living together and county where husband is living. Pat McCrary

In a general sense, you have to be a resident of the State of California for at least 6 months before you qualify to file a petition for dissolution of marriage here. So the real issue is are you a resident of Paris or visiting Paris while remaining a resident of California.
For a specific opinion regarding your individual circumstances, I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!

Re: While in France, I want to divorce my husband in California
For you to initiate a divorce here in California, ONE party must be resident in the state of California for at least 6 months immediately prior to filing the dissolution. I am making a presumptive leap, based upon the zip code given, ie, 90038, that your husband is residing in the Los Angeles region. If that is indeed the case, please feel free to email Pam at this office and we will be more than happy to discuss the matter with you - albeit by email.
