Legal Question in Family Law in California

A friend of mines who is a girl tells me after three months of not knowing that shes pregnant and says its mines. Am I liable?

It sounds like you need to have a paternity test. That would determine whether or not you are the potential father.

If it's yours it is. Also if you sign a voluntary declaration of paternity or take the child in and hold it out as yours, a court could declare the child yours. You may want to contest paternity. I suggest talking to a competent family law attorney near you who is familiar with California's quirky paternity laws.
