who has full child Custody if there is no child Custody order

hello i was wondering if anyone could help me as i am a single mother i have two children an me an there father is no longer together me nor there father has a Custody order we live in the U.S but i want to go out of country to visit my partner can my childrens father get me for kidnapping if i take them with me even know there is no custody i have been takeing care of my children sents they was born there father has not came to see them it's been about a year sents they seen him i dont even know where there father is hope someone can help me thank you for your time hope you all have a good day am waiteing for your reply
