Legal Question in Family Law in California
I have had full custody of my daughter for 7 years. The mother is taking the case to trial. I need some guidance on how to prepare.

You should consult with a family law attorney. It is unclear how to respond to your question as it is not clear what the other parent's reasons are for now seeking a change in the custody status. My first best recommendation (which is what the Court will probably also request) is that the parents go to mediation to determine if they can agree upon a change in custody status. You also do not indicate the age of the child. If your daughter is 12 or older, she may be entitled to have her own attorney to represent her wishes in this matter.
This is a question and answer service, not a free legal services program. I'd be happy to answer any specific question you post, but asking how to prepare for trial is asking for full blown legal services. I agree with Ms. Macklin that if that is what you want/need, you have to contact a qualified Family Law attorney and retain their services.
