Legal Question in Family Law in California

I have full legal & physical custody of my daughter. there is a court order stating father to have supervised visits, he never did them. Now 4 years later he is trying to see her ? I had case transferred to a different county. What is the process he will have to do to see her - I really dont want him too! What can I do? He does not know her at all!

You would need to object to visits and insist that the father start reunification services whereby he starts with small increments of time supervised. The father if he has been out of the picture for a long time will need to prove himself consistent and capable of having extended time with the child. Typically you can not prevent a father from having visitation and reuinfication with their child, but the father will have to work their way up to that and show the court they genuinely want a relationship with their child.

For self represented individuals you can consult with the family law facilitator self help center at your local court house.

As always please consult a local attorney prior to taking legal action. Good luck. Also please check out my Santa Clara County Family Lawyer blog.
