Legal Question in Family Law in California
I have been fully supporting my wife for 30 years. Now, we are totally broke, I have no job, no savings, and she keeps openning new credit cards behind my back to buy unnecessary stuff (toys for grandchildren etc). How can I stop that? Would legal separation change anything, or would I still be responsible for payments? Thank you.

If you want to stay married to your wife, then a legal separation would protect you from incurring new debt that your wife takes on. I would suggest you to either get divorced or legal separation if you are worried about incurring new debts which you would be responsible for. Another option would be filing for bankruptcy.
Please consult a local attorney in your area prior to taking legal action. Good luck.
