Garnishments
What is the difference between Garnishment-Child and Garnishment-Dependent? We pay $440.00 a month-child support. $668.00 was taken by Garnishment-Dependent without notice on this check. That amount if over half the paycheck, is that legal? Please Advise.

I am unaware of two different kinds of garnishment or withholding order for child support. The attachment can take up to 50% of his after tax pay. With an order of the court the amount can be increased to 75%.
