Legal Question in Family Law in California

My ex Girlfriend put a restraining order on me over a year ago for 5 years because of a blog I wrote about our relationship. I found out yesterday she had committed suicide 2 months ago, She added her kids to the restraining order who are now in the custody of the father who is not on the restraining order. Can I get the restraining order dropped?

Domestic restraining orders are typically made for 3 years. If it was never renewed, it already expired. If it is in place, I doubt you can get it "dropped" while at least one protected person is still alive.
