Legal Question in Family Law in California
My girlfriend of 4 yrs took off with our baby boy (3 years old) from Ca. to NY. 3 months ago. I imediatly filed custody papers along with order to show cause. She didn't appear in court. The judge made new orders to return the child to CA. She has since moved and is hiding somewhere in NY. I've been trying to find her to personally serve her. My question is: What happens if I can't serve her in time for the upcoming court date?

If this situation is as important to you as I think it is, I urge you to hire an attorney to assist you on getting your child in your custodial care as well as a private investigator to find the mother.
