Legal Question in Family Law in California
Give up his parental rights!!!
I would like my first husband to give up his parental rights since he has never been involved in my childrens lives (sice my first born was 9 months old and I was pregnant with my second). My husband of the last seven years has raised my children now 9 and 10. He would like to adopt them. My first husband was just released from prison last year (due to drug issues)after serving about 5 years. He says he is willing to give up his rights but seems to be VERY angry about it. My children use my present husbands last name also. I have supervised quite a few visits between my ex and my children and they (children) do not wish to continue the relationship. Therefore, I would like to have my husband legally adopt them and have the ex 'out of the picture'so to speak. How do I go about this without costing it costing me an arm and a leg? Thank you in advance for your response.

Two ways to go about it; in family court first then file for adoption, or straight for adoption. Going to family dourt first will speed the adoption process. I will work with you with a reasonable payment schedule. Don't try to do it yourself. Call me directly at (619) 222-3504.
