Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am a third grade teacher. This weekend my 9 year old son had a friend over and he

took my school laptop and looked up the word "sex" on it which lead him to several porn sites..he showed his freiend and it went all downhill from there. The boy went home and told his mother (who is a vice principle at a catholic school). The boys fther is a police officer.

Can I get prosecuted and my teaching credential revoked?

You should be supervising children whenever they are in your care and control. I would make sure that next time you do not allow them unrestricted access to computers and the internet. This most likely seems like a mistake, but there are many times mistakes which result in severe consequences. I don't think a child seeing a porno site on their own would be a crime. But I would take this as notice that you should in the future be more careful or not allow sleep overs at your house anymore.

For self represented individuals you can consult with the family law facilitator self help center at your local court house.

As always please consult a local attorney prior to taking legal action. Good luck. Also please check out my Santa Clara County Family Lawyer blog.
