Legal Question in Family Law in California

grandaughter..

my grand child is 16 and a half..my son never married the women..she was 17 at the time they had my grand child. Can my grand child decide who to live withnow or does she have to wait untile 18

At 18 the child is an adult and can do what they want. At 17, if the parents can't agree it is up to a judge, but a 17 year old's opinion is a significant factor.
