Legal Question in Family Law in California

granddaughter

my granddaughter is 13. Her parents, CA residents, are divorced. Somehow the custody arrangement...don't know if it is a legal decision...calls for the children to change residence every three days. My grand daughter and her younger brother want to alternate every week or every month. Does my granddaughter have any legal rights to change this very unpleasant, for them, arrangement?

Re: granddaughter

Children do not make decisions regarding custody and visitation. Those decisions are made by the parents, and if they cannot agree by the court. She should approach her parents with how she feels and ask them to change the visitation schedule. If she is timid or afraid to approach them then she should ask a friend or family member to make the request. Talking to a school counselor would be another option.
