Legal Question in Family Law in California

Grandmother lies to get temp custody

My brother-in-law has a problem. His girlfriend took their kids to her mother's place and left them. The maternal grandmother went to court a filed a claim for temporary guardianship. All here claims were falsehoods and she is denying the fathers his rights to see his kids. He went to court this morning but the court changed rooms and by the time he found out the court postponed the court date until next month. What can my brother-in-law do to get his kids back.

Re: Grandmother lies to get temp custody

I am sorry this happened to your brother in law. The best thing he can do is get an attorney to file a motion for modification and to attach a declaration under penalty of perjury regarding the truthful facts as he knows them to be.

If he is serious about getting help, let us know.

Good Luck.
