Legal Question in Family Law in California

Grandparents & Grandchild Being Abused By Parents

What are our rights as grandparents in California?

What are our grandchilds rights also?

Our grandchild was viciously ripped from our hearts by two ungrateful parents, namely our son and his girlfriend. Their dysfunctional behavior is a result of both of them being addicted to drugs for many many years.

Their accusations towards us as grandparents are bizarre. We have no right to feed her while in our care, no right to suggest a potential medical problem, and most recently .......no right to take Christmas photos of our grandchild .

We have been screamed at, called obscene names without justification by our sons mistress. We furnished their new home, bought her clothes, took care of her completely while they both lived here for the past year. We watched this beautiful grandchild for the past 6 months while they both worked. Now because of the photo incident, we are no longer allowed to be grandparents......

They only want complete control over US. Their child also loves us. Isn't this also abusive towards the child. We are loving parents and grandparents trying to cope with the girlfriends emotional problems. It is devastating!!!!

Re: Grandparents & Grandchild Being Abused By Parents

The only thing you can really do is to file a petition to allow you visitation or try to get custody if they are unfit parents.
