Legal Question in Family Law in California

grandparents rights

what are grandparents rights in Ca.

We dearly Love our grandchild. She is 15mo old. My daughter is still under this Cads spell. She agreed to let him take child every weekend which is crazy. He has past drug history and possibly still on it. This is his way of getting even at us. He drops the child off at his parents then takes off to party. His parents smoke weed. I am beside myself as it seems we have no rights. My daughter is a good girl but with him, she just doesnt think. She works full time and goes to school full time. We were watching the baby for them to help with child care expense. I think my daughter is starting to see the light. They only filed about two weeks ago. What is a Grandparent to do without hurting there daughter. He is the one that needs to have supervised vists only.

Re: grandparents rights

Grandparents have very few rights to visitation. Your best approach is to continue to provide care for you granddaughter and work with your daughter. Keep a diary of your contact with the child and prepare for a custody battle. Many experts feel that it is unhealthy for a child that age to be away from mom for a weekend. Watch for signs that the visitation is adversely affecting her.
