Legal Question in Family Law in California

grandparents rights

My grandson age 4 was adopted by the maternal grandparents a year ago last August. I had de facto parent status just like they did for over 2 years and was not even informed of the adoption hearing. They had it all done very fast and children's services didn't even know what was going on. My son and their daughter were drug addicts and parental rights were terminated. They are refusing to allow anyone from the paternal side to see the baby. The baby is of mixed race. The baby's father (my son) is half black. They are raising him as white/Jewish. The baby's birth mother has been arrested numerous times on drug offenses. But her father always makes a deal to get her no jail time. He is very rich and powerful. She is on a drug-diversion program and on probation. She also has been in court ordered drug rehab. The maternal grandparents allow her to take the baby to her house alone and I have been told they are using drugs there in the baby's presence. What can I do about this?

Re: grandparents rights

See Family Code section 3103 for Grandparents Rights. You probably need to hire an attorney to look into this complicated issue for you. Was notice properly given to all parties? Just as custody can be given it can also be taken away. If the child is in danger, inform child protective services.
