Legal Question in Family Law in California

Grandparents visitation

In the state of Washington a couple won a court battle over grandparents visitation rights. Her first husband's parents took them to court so that they could see their grandkids, but the court agreed with the mom and new dad and said that the parents have a fundamental right to determine who sees their kids. My wife and I have a California Court Order mandating time for my wife's daughter; how could the WA court decision affect ours if we wanted to discontinue these visitations? Please advise.

Re: Grandparents visitation

The supreme court case of Troxel vs. Granville decided June 5, 2000 may well effect your situation. Discuss this case's effect on you with an attorney in your area.
