Legal Question in Family Law in California
is this grounds for a restraining order?
Thank you for your help! A family member is going to try to get a restraining order against me, for e-mailing her several times - no phone calls - no personal visits. And, none of the e-mails had any threats in them, and none had anything in them that even remotely had to do with sexual harassment! Sure, there were a few ebscenities, but that is normal. Will i have a good case against the order, based on the fact that she has slandered myself and my wife (her daughter) to over ten people, broken up friendships of mine because of her lies, and even had her son calling me threatening to kill me after talking to her? I just want to know if i will even have a chance the fight this, because it is certainly not called for. Thanks again for your help!

Re: is this grounds for a restraining order?
You need to discuss this with an attorney. The declaration supporting the request for the restraining order must be reviewed, and your statement of what occurred must be reviewed. The e mails would also have to be reviewed.
