Legal Question in Family Law in California

Guardian ad Litem

I was wondering if the court appoints a guardian ad litem for minor children in placer county. If so how do I find out who exactly is assigned to my grandson's case? And are they required to assist my daughter as well?

Re: Guardian ad Litem

Your question is not clear. A guardian ad litem is appointed when a minor is a party to a law suit. Your question was posted on the family site. In family law cases the court does not appoint a guardian ad litem. The court appoints an attorney to represent the child or children. The attorney is charged with protecting the child's interest. In either case you may be able to get this information from the court. You could just be present next time the matter is in court and see who stands up stating they represent the child.
