Legal Question in Family Law in California

Guardianship

My cousin past away recently leaving her two young sons. She was married but her husband is unable to care for the children because he has four of his own and is now a single parent. What do her parents need to do to become the children's legal guardians. They are not by any means able to afford it but they feel they need to take care of the boys. What do we do?

Re: Guardianship

There are different options available, but not enough information is provided to help me provide a response. Where is the dad? Does he agree that the grandparents should have custody? What do the kids want? You should consult with an attorney and provide additional information in order for an attorney to give you meaningful advice.
