Legal Question in Family Law in California

Guardianship

My 15 y/o stepson lives with me. His father, my husband, is in prison and his mother is nowhere to be found. Can I get some kind of legal guardianship of him? How can I get legal guardianship of him? If something should happen to him I am not legally able to help, at least I don't think I am.

Legal Guardianship will give you the legal right to make decisions for this child and in all aspects of his care, custody and control. We offer attorney supervised paralegal support services to those who want assistance in filling out the court forms but do not want to hire an attorney to be in court.

For a specific opinion regarding your individual circumstances, I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!
